A caption that's perfect for LinkedIn rarely works on X. frik.io lets you write a base caption once and then override it per network — no need to create separate posts.
How Overrides Work
- In the Composer, select every network you want to post to.
- Type your base caption — it applies to all selected networks by default.
- To tailor a specific network, open its Customize for [Network] tab. Anything you type there replaces the base caption for that network only.
Networks you don't customize keep using the base caption, so you only override what you need.
Why Override
- Character limits differ: 280 on X, 2,200 on Instagram, 1,500 on Google Business, 300 on Bluesky. The live counter reflects the selected network.
- Tone differs: professional on LinkedIn, casual on Instagram.
- Hashtags differ per audience.
First Comments
For each network you can add a first comment — text posted as the first reply right after publishing. This is the classic Instagram trick for keeping hashtags out of the caption: put them in the first comment instead. Add first-comment text in the Composer per network (hashtags, links, @mentions).
Media
Attach media in the base post; it carries to every selected network. Each platform then applies its own rules (e.g. Instagram video becomes a Reel, Google Business keeps only the first image).
Tips
- Preview each network's card in the Composer to confirm the override reads well before scheduling.
- Keep the base caption as your "lowest common denominator" and override the networks that need a different voice.
