Connect Google Business Profile

Google Business Profile uses a two-phase connect: authorize with Google, then pick the exact locations to manage.

Google Business Profile (GBP) is the only network with a two-phase connect: you authorize with Google first, then choose exactly which business locations to link.

Phase 1 — Authorize with Google

  1. Open Social Accounts and click the Google Business tile.
  2. Sign in with the Google account that manages your business locations.
  3. Approve the business.manage scope (plus basic profile/email).

Phase 2 — Pick Your Locations

After Google returns, frik.io fetches every location your account manages and shows you a location picker:

  1. The picker lists your locations, indicates which are already connected, and shows how many connection slots your plan has left.
  2. Tick the locations you want to manage.
  3. Confirm — frik.io creates one connected account per selected location.

Each location is billed as an account against your plan's limit, so pick only the ones you'll actually post to.

Publishing Specifics & Limits

  • Post types: Updates, Offers, and Events.
  • Character limit: 1,500 characters. Longer captions are truncated to fit (frik.io warns you when this happens).
  • Media: GBP supports one image per post — only the first attached image is published, and frik.io warns if you attach more.

Reconnecting an Expired Connection

GBP tokens can expire or be revoked on Google's side. When that happens the account shows Needs Attention (or you'll see a "Google session expired — reconnect" message). Click Reconnect and re-run the two-phase flow. If your Google session simply expired mid-picker, frik.io asks you to reconnect and start again.

Disconnecting

Use ⋯ → Disconnect on a location's card to remove just that location, or disconnect each one you no longer manage.

Troubleshooting

  • "Needs setup" after connecting: you finished Phase 1 but not Phase 2 — return to Accounts and complete the location picker.
  • Rate limit reached: GBP's per-minute quota is strict. frik.io retries per-minute rate limits automatically (3× with backoff); if you hit the daily quota, retrying won't help — try again the next day.
  • No locations shown: confirm the Google account you used actually manages a Business Profile, and that the required Business Profile APIs are enabled for it.
  • Caption cut off: it exceeded 1,500 characters and was truncated for GBP.
