TikTok connects via OAuth 2.0. frik.io is fully approved by TikTok for the Content Posting API, so you can publish straight to your feed — including public posts — or send videos to your TikTok drafts to finish in the app.
How to Connect
- Go to Social Accounts and click the TikTok tile.
- TikTok's authorization page appears (frik.io always shows the full approval screen rather than silently re-approving).
- Approve the requested scopes and you're returned to frik.io.
Permissions Requested
- user.info.basic — your profile and posting eligibility
- video.publish — the Direct Post flow (publishes a video to your feed)
- video.upload — the Drafts flow (sends a video to your TikTok inbox to finish in the app)
Two Ways to Post
Direct Post
Publishes straight to your TikTok feed at the visibility you choose — Public, Friends, or Only Me (whichever options your account allows). Before posting, frik.io queries TikTok's creator_info to read your allowed privacy levels and posting eligibility. You must pick a privacy level in the Composer — frik.io never silently chooses one for you, because that would violate TikTok's guidelines.
Send to TikTok Drafts
Uploads the video to your TikTok inbox. You then open the TikTok app to add the caption, privacy, and disclosures, and publish it yourself. This path uses video.upload.
Publishing Limits
- Drafts inbox cap: TikTok allows a maximum of 5 pending drafts. If your inbox is full, finish or discard drafts in the app before sending more.
- Daily API limit: TikTok enforces a daily posting quota; hitting it fails the post until the quota resets.
Reconnecting & Disconnecting
Click Reconnect if TikTok shows Needs Attention. If a drafts post fails with a permission error, reconnect to (re-)grant video.upload. Disconnect via ⋯ → Disconnect.
Troubleshooting
- "privacy level isn't available": your account doesn't offer the chosen visibility (e.g. a Private TikTok account can't post Public) — re-select the visibility in the Composer.
- "too many unfinished drafts": your inbox has 5 pending drafts; clear some in the TikTok app.
- "daily API posting limit": wait for the quota to reset.
- Drafts need extra permission: reconnect to grant
