YouTube connects through Google OAuth and lets you upload videos to your channel from the frik.io Composer.
How to Connect
- Go to Social Accounts and click the YouTube tile.
- Choose the Google account that owns your channel and approve access.
- Your channel appears connected.
Permissions Requested
- youtube.upload — upload videos to your channel
- youtube.readonly — read your channel info (name, avatar)
Publishing Specifics
- YouTube posts are video uploads — attach a video file to the post.
- Title & description: frik.io splits your caption into a title and description. The first line (up to ~100 characters) becomes the title; the rest becomes the description. Write your caption with the title on the first line for clean results.
- Uploads use Google's resumable/insert upload pipeline.
Reconnecting & Disconnecting
If the channel shows Needs Attention, click Reconnect and re-authorize with Google. Disconnect via ⋯ → Disconnect, and optionally revoke frik.io at myaccount.google.com → Security → Third-party access.
Troubleshooting
- Upload fails or quota errors: YouTube's Data API has a daily upload quota. If you hit it, wait for the reset.
- Video only, no title: make sure your caption's first line reads like a title — that line is what YouTube uses.
- Reconnect if uploads stop working: an expired Google token is the most common cause.
