Pinterest connects to frik.io through OAuth 2.0 with PKCE, so you authorize access on Pinterest and never share your Pinterest password with frik.io.
Connect Your Pinterest Account
- Open Social Accounts in frik.io.
- Select Pinterest and click Connect Pinterest.
- Sign in to Pinterest and approve the requested board, Pin, and profile permissions.
- Pinterest returns you to frik.io, where the connected account appears in your account list.
Create a Pinterest Pin
- Open the Composer and select your Pinterest account.
- Add an image and write the Pin description.
- In the Pinterest options, choose a board. If you leave the board blank, frik.io uses the first available board.
- Optionally add a destination link.
- Publish immediately or schedule the Pin from the calendar.
Supported Pinterest Content
- Image Pins: supported.
- Board selection: supported through the Composer.
- Destination links: supported.
- Text-only Pins: not supported. Attach an image before publishing.
- Idea Pins: not available through the Pinterest API integration.
Reconnecting or Disconnecting
If Pinterest revokes or expires the connection, the account will show Needs Attention. Select Reconnect and approve access again. To remove the account from frik.io, use the account card's menu and choose Disconnect.
Troubleshooting
- No boards available: confirm the Pinterest account has at least one board, then reconnect so frik.io can refresh its access.
- Publishing requires an image: Pinterest publishing through frik.io creates image Pins, so attach an image in the Composer.
- Permission error: reconnect the account and approve all requested permissions.
